The Pollock Division playoffs will start later this week but Wingham and Mount Forest still have to play to determine first place for the regular season.
Mount Forest beat Wingham 6-5 on Sunday meaning Thursday's game in Mount Forest will determine who finishes the regular season in top spot. The two teams were supposed to play last Friday night but weather forced the game to be postponed.
Going into Thursday night's game, Wingham has 65 points and Mount Forest has 63. Both teams have 31 wins.
Meaning if Mount Forest wins, then the Patriots would clinch the top spot based on wins as both teams would be tied in points and the head to head record would 3-3. Wingham can clinch first with a win, a tie or an overtime loss.
The teams have been evenly matched in four of the five games so far with Wingham winning 5-4, 3-1 and 7-1 and Mount Forest winning 6-5 and 4-2.
Thursday night's game will also determine who gets to choose the bye into the first round of the playoffs. The top seeded team can elect to take the bye or pass it on to the next team in the rankings.
Thursday night's game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Mount Forest and District Community Centre.
CKNX will have the game for you on Cherrey Buslines OHA Hockey with the pre-game show starting at 7:25 p.m.
