There has been plenty of recent press regarding a bid for a new junior hockey franchise in the city of Collingwood.
What is not yet set in stone is whether the franchise will be a junior A club or junior B, with Collingwood council recently receiving presentations from both groups. The OHA recently confirmed they will support either bid no matter which side the city votes for, which will be this coming Monday, March 11th. That being said, there is some confusion regarding the proposals and what still needs to happen for either bid to be approved.
Waterloo Siskins President Curtis Clairmont, who's team operates in the GOJHL's Midwest Conference, recently spoke with CKNX regarding the process and to clear up some confusion in terms of the future of the Collingwood bids. The full interview is available below.
