Goals at a premium in Game 4 of the Cherrey Cup

The Listowel Cyclones had chances but none came to count on the scoreboard in a 2-0 loss to Waterloo in Game 4 of the GOJHL Midwest Cherrey Cup.

Both teams started a little sluggish but it didn't take long for the pace to pick up.

Waterloo would open the scoring at the 16:19 mark of the first period as three Siskins' rushed into the Listowel zone. The defense zoned in on the first two but no one picked up Alex Lycett coming down the right wing. The puck went from left wing, to the slot, to the right wing in a hurry and Lycett put it in the net for what would be the eventual winner.

The second Waterloo goal was into an empty net late in the third period.

Both teams' power plays were ineffective with Listowel 0-for-4 and Waterloo o-for-5 with the man advantage.

Cyclones' goalie Evan Morrison stopped 32 shots while Waterloo's Matt Onuska stopped 28 for the shut-out.

Game 5 of the series is Friday night in Listowel at 7:30 p.m. with Waterloo up 3-1 in the series.
