Ironmen defender Carter Collinson named OHA Junior C Player of the Year

The Wingham Ironmen had a great season this year, and one of their players has received an extremely prestigious recognition from the Ontario Hockey Association.

Defender Carter Collinson, a fourth year player for Wingham, has been named the OHA's Junior C Player of the year. Collinson shattered his personal best of 40 points in a season last year, amassing 64 points in just 43 games (16 goals, 48 assists). He led all of the PJHL defenders in scoring, and was named PJHL MVP and Defenceman of the Year. On the power play, Collinson was deadly, putting up 37 points with the man advantage, with 9 goals and 28 assists, and his 28 helpers on the power play led every single PJHL skater.

Collinson was a massive part of a great season for the Ironmen, as he helped take them to a second place finish in the division just behind Mount Forest, who the Ironmen eventually fell to in the Pollock Division Final. In 16 playoff games, Collinson had 27 points from the blue line.
