Local track and field athletes claim hardware at OFSAA

Some local track and field athletes did very well at the OFSAA high school championships on Friday at the University of Guelph.

Harley Martin of Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton collected her third medal, winning Gold in Midget Girls Discus, throwing a new personal best of 35.13m. Martin finishes OFSAA with 2 Gold and 1 Silver. In Midget boys action, Ben Brewer of Kincardine District Secondary School won his 2nd Gold medal winning the Discus event with a throw of 49.06m.

Billie Martin of Sacred Heart in Walkerton finished 4th in Senior Girls Shotput with a throw of 11.32m, while Jeremy Elliott of Sacred Heart finished 5th in Sr. Boys Shotput with a throw of 15.80m.
