Mitchell Hawks fend off Hanover barrage

In the PJHL, the Mitchell Hawks survived a 43 shot blitz from Hanover and won 4-0.

Seth Monkhouse picked up the shut out for Mitchell.

Mitchell Hawk Max Hall scored at 8:55 in the first period, and the team didn't get their second goal until midway through the third.

Noah Benjamin providing a bit of a cushion at the 9:12 mark of the third. Then Ryan Murray put it out of reach, scoring short handed at 13:34 and scored his second of the game late in the period.

Both the Barons and Hawks couldn't get anything going on the power play as Hanover was 0-for-8 and Mitchell 0-for-7.

Mitchell's next game is back on home ice Friday night against Wingham at 8:30 p.m., the first of three games through the weekend. Mitchell will also play at home Saturday night versus Kincardine then travel to Goderich on Sunday.

The Hanover Barons have the weekend off and won't play again until Friday, November 1 at home against Goderich.
