Attack can't hold lead

The Owen Sound Attack carried a 2-0 lead in to the third period but the Flint Firebirds scored twice in a five minute span and eventually won in overtime 4-3.

The Attack scored a goal in the first period at 11:42 courtesy of Deni Goure, his third of the season. Owen Sound extended its lead at 3:30 of the second period when Aiden Dudas notched his fifth goal of the season on the power play.

But in the third Flint scored 38 seconds in and tied it just five minutes later. Owen Sound regained the lead at the 8:42 mark as Dudas scored his second goal of the game. But again Flint responded with just 10 seconds left in regulation and scored the tying goal.

Flint would win it overtime.

Owen Sound ended up 1-for-2 on the power play, Flint was 0-for-3.

With the win Flint jumps to the top of the West Division, a point better than Saginaw and Windsor. Owen Sound still holds the lead in the Midwest but just by two points over Kitchener and Erie.

Owen Sound's next game is in Kitchener Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
