Leafs look for second win, Joe Bowen joins CKNX

The Leafs look for their second win in the young season when they play in Ottawa Friday night.

Leaf's radio play-by-play voice Joe Bowen joins MWO Sports on CKNX at 5:30 p.m.

He says it was a great first game, a 5-4 overtime win over Montreal, but he did miss the buzz of fans.

"An opening night, on a Wednesday night, Montreal and Toronto, and no matter where it is, whether it's Montreal or Toronto, the building is electric," said Bowen. "And we missed that."

The game also showed that the Leafs had some grit to get the season started with the addition of veterans Joe Thornton and Wayne Simmonds.

"The oldest person involved with this team, Conn Smythe, came up with a great line. If you can't beat them in the alley, you can't beat them on the ice."

You can listen to Joe Bowen call Friday's game at 7 p.m., following MWO Sports on CKNX.

MWO Sports starts a half an hour earlier, following the 5:30 p.m. news. The Leafs pre-game show is at 6:30 p.m. and the opening face-off between Toronto and Ottawa is scheduled for 7 p.m.
