Ironmen escape with overtime win on the road

For the second time in three games, the Wingham Ironmen and Kincardine Bulldogs went into overtime in the playoffs.

Wingham won Game 3, 3-2 Tuesday night in Kincardine.

The teams exchanged goals in the first period with Evan Visser scoring for Wingham and Nolan Koetsier for Kincardine.

The same happened in the second period as Kyle Stanbury and Bryce McFadden scored for the Ironmen and Bulldogs respectively.

With no goals in the third, the game shifted into overtime.

Chris Adlys scored unassisted at 8:38 in overtime to give Wingham the win and a 2-1 series lead in the quarter-final.

Game 4 is Wednesday in Wingham at 8:30 p.m.

Two more series continue Wednesday.

Walkerton is in Mount Forest for Game 3 at 8 p.m. with the Patriots up 2-0 in that series.

And Mitchell in Goderich for Game 4 at 8:30 p.m. with the Hawks up 3-0.

Looking ahead, Game 5 of the Wingham - Kincardine quarter-final will be played Friday at 8:30 p.m. in Kincardine and that game will be feature on P.B.J. Cleaning Depot OHA Hockey on CKNX.
