Hanover strikes twice on the power play in Mitchell

Goals continue to come at a premium in the PJHL's Pollock Division Final.

In all four games, the winning team has scored no more than two goals.

Sunday's Game 4 saw more of the same, a lot of chances and stellar goaltending.

The difference were two power play goals scored by Hanover defenceman Sam Walsom. The first goal came at 14:42 in the first on a two man advantage.

The second was scored at 7:53 in the second, also on the power play. The Barons gained the man advantage after Mitchell forward Tyson Hall was given a five minute penalty for charging the goaltender. He also received a game misconduct. The official time of the penalty was 7:25 and the Barons would score 18 seconds later.

Mitchell would cut the lead in half at 10:53 of the third on a Charlie Rankin point shot that sailed high of the shoulder of Riley McCabe.

But that was it as Hanover held on to win 2-1 and tie the series at two.

Mitchell goalie Tyler Parr made 33 saves and McCabe 24 in the Hanover crease.

The two teams have a few days to rest before Game 5 which will be played Thursday night in Hanover at 8 p.m.

Game 6 is scheduled for Friday in Mitchell at 7 p.m..

If needed, Game 7 will be back in Hanover on Saturday at 8 p.m.

CKNX will have the rest of the series for you on OHA Hockey brought to you by PBJ Cleaning Depot Group.
