A Goderich native has been recruited for the Canadian Down Syndrome Swim Team.
Teen Amiera Black, is the newest member of the team and she has been given the chance to represent Canada at the 10th World Down Syndrome Swimming Championships in Portugal this October.
The team has 20 members.
Black was born and raised in Goderich and now calls Stratford home, and she has swam for the Wilmot Aquatic Aces out of both the Wilmot and Woodstock pools for the past five seasons. Her friends and family have a GoFundMe page started to help make Amiera's dream a reality this fall.
The GoFundMe account can be found here: https://gofund.me/b660047b and they are looking for donations to add to an online auction, as well.
