Flesherton native and Ottawa Senators winger Chris Neil will have his number retired early next year.
The Senators posted a video to Twitter showing Neil recording a message to fans about the upcoming game on February 17 between Ottawa and Chicago. When he reaches the part in the script where it says his number 25 is being raised to the rafters, Neil at first laughs, then tears up as his family enter the room.

The 43-year-old was selected 161st overall in 1998 and played his entire 17-year career in Ottawa.
