McCue scores OT winner for Attack against Kitchener

The Owen Sound Attack have won two games in a row for just the second time this season.

They hosted the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday and ended up winning 5-4 in overtime. They were coming off a 5-2 win against the Sarnia Sting earlier in the week. The only other time they had a win streak was October 11 and 12 against Niagara and Peterborough.

Landen Hookey gave the Attack the early lead in the first period after scoring a shorthanded goal for his 9th of the season.

Kitchener wasn’t trailing for too long as Tanner Lam found the back of the net before the end of the period.

Owen Sound regained the lead just over a minute into the second period as Antonio Tersigni scored his 8th goal.

Around a minute later, Sam McCue would get his 9th of the season.

The Attack’s Braedyn Rogers scored his 2nd of the season to cap the scoring in the period.

Luca Romano got Kitchener back in the third period with two goals before Trent Swick tied the game with under a minute left.

McCue would be the hero for the Attack as he scored his 2nd of the game to take the win.

With the win, Owen Sound improves its record to 5-8-2-2, while Kitchener moves to 13-2-2-1.

The Attack’s next game is on Sunday, November 10, at home against the Sudbury Wolves.
