It's a comeback the Owen Sound Attack will be thinking about for a long time.
They were in Sault Ste. Marie on Sunday and won 4-3 in overtime after trailing 3-1 after two periods.
Sault Ste. Marie opened the scoring in the first period when Brady R Smith found the back of the net. This was the only goal despite the Greyhounds getting 24 shots.
Christopher Brown doubled Sault. Ste Marie's lead early in the second period before Lenny Greenberg scored his first career OHL goal on the powerplay for the Attack. Getting the assist on Greenberg's goal was Declan Waddick.
Sault Ste. Marie got one more goal from Marco Mignosa before the end of the period.
The third period was dominated by the Attack as they outshot Sault Ste. Marie 15-4.
James Petrovski scored his 4th goal just over halfway through the period to cut the lead to one. Greenberg got the only assist.
A few minutes later, Pierce Mbuyi found the back of the net to tie the game. His 25th goal was assisted by Landen Hookey and Tristan Delisle.
Fast forward to overtime where Cole Zurawski's 12th goal won the game for the Attack. Greenberg and Delisle with the assists.
Attack goalie Carter George made 39 saves for the win.
With the win, Owen Sound improves its record to 20-30-4-3, while Sault Ste. Marie moves to 22-32-2-1.
The Attack's next game is on Wednesday, February 26, at home against the Niagara IceDogs.
