Attack clinch playoff spot after Sarnia loss

The Owen Sound Attack will be playing playoff hockey.

They earned the eighth and final spot in the western conference after the Sarnia Sting lost their last game of the season on Sunday to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

The Sting needed a win to force a tiebreaker against the Attack after Owen Sound beat Guelph 4-2 in their last regular season game.

The Attack will face the London Knights in the first round of the playoffs. They were the CHL's top team in the regular season, finishing with 112 points which was four more than the Moncton Wildcats. The Wildcats did have a better win percentage as the QMJHL plays four fewer games than the OHL and the WHL.

Game 1 will happen on Friday in London with puck drop happening at 7 p.m.

Game 2 will be a 2 p.m. start in London on Sunday.

The Attack will host Game 3 on April 1 with puck drop set for 7 p.m.

Game 4 will happen in Owen Sound on April 3 starting at 7 p.m.

Game 5, if necessary, will be in London on April 4 starting at 7 p.m.

Game 6, if necessary, will be a 2 p.m. start in Owen Sound on April 6.

A winner-take-all Game 7 would happen on April 8 in London with puck drop set for 7 p.m.
