No Guns Stolen During Canadian Tire Break-In

It turns out the suspect who broke into a west end Canadian Tire store didn't steal any guns, he left empty handed.

On Thursday someone broke into the location on Tecumseh Rd. W through the skylight just before 5am.

Initially police thought long guns were stolen because the firearms cabinet was damaged.

After finishing an inventory, store staff tell police all the guns are accounted for.

The Windsor police Target Base Unit continues to investigate.

In a separate incident, police now say the shirtless man caught walking in the downtown with a long gun is linked to the Canadian Tire break-in on Walker Rd.

The man was arrested on Sunday morning in the area of Elliott St. W and Victoria Ave. A patrol officer saw him walking with a red camping chair bag with an object sticking out that looked like a gun.

Investigators say the guns were stolen at the Walker Rd. Canadian Tire on June 15.

Police aren't saying if this 32-year-old man is the one who actually stole the gun.

However, he's been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm without a license and possession of a firearm obtained by crime.
