Spitfires defeat Spirit 4-1 in Saginaw

The Windsor Spitfires had little trouble with Saginaw on Saturday night, beating the Spirit 4-1.

The game at the Dow Event Centre got off to a slow start, but that quickly changed when Cole Purboo put Windsor on the board with a goal around the nine minute mark in the first period. Just 46 seconds later the Spirit tied the game. Kyle McDonald put the Spitfires ahead 2-1 one minute later.

The second period saw no goals. However plenty of penalties were dished out - Windsor had 3, while the Spirit had 1.

Curtis Douglas and Luke Boka each scored in the third period to bring the score to 4-1.

Tyler Angle, Will Cuylle, and Daniel D'Amico all had assists.

The Spitfires return to home ice Sunday afternoon for a game against the Owen Sound Attack. Those heading to the game are asked to bring an unwrapped toy for Sparky’s Toy Drive.
