A drive-thru food hub is opening in Leamington Friday.
The Unemployed Help Centre is opening the food bank at the Salvation Army Leamington Community Church due to increased demand in the community.
According to the Unemployed Help Centre, recent reports show Leamington has a slightly higher rate of poverty than the average with 19 per cent of children living in low-income households.
The drive-thru food hub on Setterington Street will be open every Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers will distribute pre-packed emergency food boxes that will provide seven days worth of food per person.
