Lakeshore reopens Lakeview Park splash pad

There's now another option for Windsor-Essex children to cool off.

The Town of Lakeshore has reopened the splash pad at Lakeview Park and Marina, starting Saturday. The pad is typically open earlier in the summer, but provincial regulations regarding the containment of the COVID-19 pandemic kept similar facilities closed.

The pad is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.

Like other splash pads in the region that have reopened, additional signage will be posted to remind users of the precautions that should be taken while using it. The pad itself is not sanitized, and the town recommends that children wash their hands before and after using it. Washrooms are located next to the pad and are open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. They are cleaned and disinfected twice per day according to public health guidelines.

Physical distancing is strongly recommended. If there are children waiting to use the pad, parents are asked to take turns so as many children can use it as possible.

The splash pads in the town of Lakeshore are typically open each summer through Labour Day. The pad at the Atlas Tube Centre will remain closed for the rest of the season.
