Charges are pending after a 14-year-old was struck by a car on County Road 20 in Kingsville Sunday afternoon.
Around 4:30 p.m., two youths were walking on the gravel shoulder on County Road 20 near Simmers Avenue. A car travelling eastbound crossed over into the westbound lane and struck the 14-year-old. The driver continued down the road but later returned to the scene.
Essex County OPP and EMS responded to the accident. The 14-year-old was taken to an area hospital for the treatment of "life-altering injuries," according to police.
The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending against the driver.
