The French Catholic school board is celebrating the opening of a new school for adult and alternative learners.
École secondaire catholique Sainte-Trinité on Ouellette Avenue now houses a day school for an alternative learning program, a night school for students in Grades 7 to 12, and summer school.
"The name is actually symbolic. The Holy Trinity is what guides us in our faith, the teachings of the Holy Trinity, and it's also symbolic of the three schools that are actually housed in this space," said Principal Jeannine Duguay-Pellerin.
École secondaire catholique Sainte-Trinité also offers a virtual learning program to meet the needs of adult learners throughout the regions covered by Csc Providence.
"The pandemic has taught us that we can do things in other ways and I think one of the benefits has been online learning. So we are able to meet the needs of these adult learners virtually," said Duguay-Pellerin.
The new school space was redeveloped with the aim of providing a comfortable, modern, and secure location for students.
The school officially opened as the Adult Training Centre in 2008. It was renamed in July 2021 and moved into the new school space in December 2021.
