Boxing fans should look forward to a live event in downtown Windsor Sunday night.
Border City Boxing has announced the return of "Rumble on The River" a live boxing show at the Festival Plaza beginning at 7 p.m.
The event will feature a number of bouts with fighters from five Windsor and Essex County boxing clubs. Co-main events include Border City’s Jack Nantais vs St. Catherine’s Boxing Club Dylan Maisonneuve and Border City’s Ryan Pluss vs St. Catherine’s Dennis Steingart.
"We will have a complete setup with food and beverage vendors. We will be transforming the riverfront into a boxing venue for a great family friendly show," said Border City Boxing’s Executive Director Renaldo Agostino. "Our kids are super excited to be able to perform in their hometown and in such a great venue, it’s going to be another wonderful event in our city."
Live music and a DJ will also be featured at the event which is being hosted by six-time World Champion Jeanine Garside.
This event marks the first return of live boxing to downtown Windsor's Festival Plaza since 2018. The event is geared for all-ages and will be a family friendly show.
General admission for the show is $30. Proceeds will help support amateur boxing and youth recreation at Border City Boxing Club. Tickets can be purchased online at www.bordercityboxing.eventbrite.ca. Doors open at 6 p.m., one hour before bell time.
