It's a newer school, but residents are now invited to sound off on a planned expansion.
The Greater Essex County District School Board (GSCDSB) will hold a public open house Tuesday night to discuss the expansion of Legacy Oak Trail Public School in LaSalle. It will be held at the school, which is located at 2648 Leptis Magna Drive.
Earlier this year, the board was awarded $4-million by the Ontario Ministry of Education to expand the school, which opened for student use last school year.
"We are extremely pleased by the prompt response of the Ministry of Education to our request,” said GECDSB Director of Education Erin Kelly at the time. “This funding for an addition to Legacy Oak Trail Public School will accommodate the demand created by this wonderful new school and the growth occurring in its LaSalle neighbourhood.”
When completed, there will be additional space for 167 students.
Parents, staff, and students are invited to look at the design for the expansion. There will also be a presentation from the architects, WalterFedy Partnership, and visitors will be asked for questions or comments.
The open house begins at 6 p.m.
