Windsor police say one person has died after a reported shooting near a city daycare.
The incident happened at around 5 p.m. Monday according to investigators. Emergency crews were called to an area on Hanna Street East near Parent Avenue, near the ABC Day Nursery. An injured person was located taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
At around 6:40 p.m., police confirmed the victim, identified only as a 26-year-old man, has died from his wounds.
"We believe this to be an isolated incident with no threat to public safety," a release from Windsor police read.
The Windsor Police Service's Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate the incident.
On Tuesday morning, police released three photos of a brown, four-door Honda Civic sedan they believe is connected to the shooting.
