Stellantis Canada is taking advantage of a return to next month's Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS).
The automaker, whose Canadian operations are based in Windsor, is heading back to Toronto after a three-year absence, ready to show off its 2023 models and bring a popular interactive experience for its Canadian debut.
"Stellantis is thrilled to not only be back on the CIAS show floor to showcase its latest vehicles, including a host of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, but to also bring Camp Jeep north of the border for the first time," said Stellantis Canada Vice-President of Sales and Marketing William Levasseur. "We’re excited to welcome Canadians back and to have them experience Jeep vehicles’ signature capabilities, including a four-metre mountain climb, plus our new models on display for the first time at CIAS, including the exciting Dodge Hornet, Alfa Romeo Tonale, and much more."
Camp Jeep is a man-made off-road course that will showcase the virtues of Jeep models, with professional 4x4 drivers bringing riders along as they guide the vehicles along the course during the auto show. In addition to the four-metre mountain climb, Camp Jeep will feature a 1.5-metre high ground clearance stair climb, an extreme breakover obstacle, an off-camber stability side slope, and a 30-degree banked articulated wedge.
The exhibit is created from ten tractor-trailers worth of material, with 400 man-hours of labour needed to build and tear down.
Among the 2023 models on display at the CIAS is the 2023 Dodge Hornet, which is a compact utility vehicle with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of under $40,000. It features two powertrains including a PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle).
The 2023 Jeep Waggoner L adds 30.5 centimetres in length for enhanced passenger and cargo volume beyond the third row. The 2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale is the Italian make's first fully-electric model.
The Windsor-built Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid will also be displayed.
The CIAS will be open to the public from February 17 to February 26 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
