Nominations for Mayor's Recognition Awards opens in Leamington

Mayor Hilda MacDonald and the rest of Leamington's Municipal Council are once again looking for community members who inspire others.

Nominations are open for the second annual Mayor's Recognition Awards in six categories: athletics, outstanding youth, innovation, distinguished volunteer, community inspiration, and the mayor's special award.

Each recognizes residents who have made a meaningful contribution or had a significant achievement in 2022.

The Mayor's Recognition Awards Committee chooses five award recipients. MacDonald picks the winner of the Mayor's Special Award.

"The Mayor's Recognition Awards provide an opportunity to acknowledge those who dedicate their time and effort to make Leamington a better place," said MacDonald. "We all know someone who, despite their busy life, still finds time to support the community in a significant way."

Nominations are open to individuals, groups, and organizations. They close on April 6, and the winners will be honoured at a special council meeting in the spring.
