The Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) donated 40 Easter gift baskets for young ones in the Windsor community serviced by Children First.
Children First is a local organization that provides assistance to families of young children with developmental concerns or mental health challenges.
"Our goal was to donate 40 baskets, and we made it! Our members are passionate about the work that they do at Children First, and we're happy to be able to support them in their mission," said Leona MacIntyre, president of the Rotary Club of Windsor.
The partnership between the Rotary Club and Children First is over a decade strong.
The Easter basket initiative was previously headed by Mark Donlon, who had ties with both organizations. He was the executive director of Children First and a member of Windsor's Rotary Club.
Donlon passed away in 2020, but the tradition lives on in his memory.
"This tradition means just as much to our staff as it does to our families," says Lori Kempe, current executive director of Children First. "Unfortunately, there are many in our community who need access to programs like this, and we are so grateful that with the support of Rotary (1918), we can help families celebrate the holiday. You can tell that a lot of effort goes into each basket!"
