The City of Windsor is once again partnering with Zehrs to offer free transit on fireworks night.
Transit Windsor will provide a free direct shuttle bus from Devonshire Mall to a drop-off spot near City Hall. Regular transit routes will also offer free service from 6 p.m. until midnight.
“We’re proud to support the free transit rides for fireworks night; this will be year 13, and we hope to see record attendance,” said Zehrs® Manager Attila Kadar.
Parkway Zehrs® on Tecumseh Road East, St. Clair Beach Zehrs® and Zehrs® in LaSalle all partnered to pay for the free service.
The shuttle will leave from Devonshire Mall starting at 6 p.m. The return shuttle will pick up passengers on McDougall Street across from Windsor Arena and travel back to the mall.
The shuttle will run until midnight.
“In past years, upwards of 5,000 area residents have utilized the free regular transit route service on fireworks night, and between 5,000 and 7,000 have parked at Devonshire Mall to ride the free shuttles from there,” said Tyson Cragg, executive director of Transit Windsor. “It’s a terrific night for all, and we’re happy to do our part to make it easier.”
This year’s fireworks begin at 10 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2023. The rain date is Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
Information about road closures downtown and parking availability will be released closer to the event.
