Frigid Family Day

New record low temperatures were set across the province, including in Sarnia, on a frigid Family Day.

Environment Canada meteorologist Geoff Coulson says the mercury at Chris Hadfield Airport fell to -28.3 C (-19 F) at 7am Monday.

He says that shattered the previous record of -21.2 C set in 2004.

Coulson says long range forecast models indicate colder than normal weather for the rest of this month and into March.
