After a lengthy process of gauging public opinion, Sarnia City Council is being asked to endorse the Arena Management Strategy Monday.
Staff is recommending the first of four options that would see the closure of Germain Park Arena and upgrades to the city's other five ice pads.
Mayor Mike Bradley says upgrades to Sarnia Arena are included.

The plan would have a net capital cost of about $1-million a year for ten years and a yearly operating cost of about $540,000.
Clearwater Arena could also be upgraded down the road making it more accessible for sledge hockey.
Closing Sarnia Arena, repurposing Germain Arena and replacing Clearwater Arena with a new two pad complex with a walking track are other options not being recommended by staff.
