Poor weather in the first quarter of this year has slowed housing starts in the Sarnia area.
In March, work began on just one home while there have been just nine starts since the beginning of the year.
CMHC Senior Market Analyst Anthony Passarelli says that's down from the usual ten to 25 housing starts in the first quarter of a typical year.
Passarelli expects the market to pick up later this year because there aren't many unsold new homes in the area.
The numbers include Sarnia, St. Clair Township and Pt. Edward.
