Workforce Report Makes Case For College Health Centre

Lambton College says a recent Sarnia-Lambton Workforce Development Board report bodes well for its plans to construct a Health Education and Sustainable Care Centre on campus.

The Labour Market Review says the area's largest workforce is in the healthcare and social assistance sector.

College President Judith Morris says all medical related jobs within the sector require post secondary education.

Lambton County Council has already agreed to fund the $30-million health centre project at $5-million over six years provided there's financial support from senior government.

Morris says the report could help the college secure $10-million each from the federal and provincial governments.

Decisions are expected to be announced in the next few weeks.
