Bluewater Power Pays Dividends

Sarnia's mayor says it's a shining example of the importance of retaining Bluewater Power.

The city is receiving a $2-million dividend from the utility for 2014, including $860,000 that was not budgeted for.

Mike Bradley says this is not driven by rate increases.

Five other municipalities are also receiving dividends, totalling over $300,000.

The province feels there would be a benefit in the consolidation of smaller municipal electrical utilities, but the mayor says the latest shares shows otherwise.
