Locally significant rainfall possible this weekend.

What:
Local rainfall amounts exceeding 50 mm.
Rainfall rates up to 40 mm in an hour.

When:
Today through Sunday morning.

Additional information:
Showers and thunderstorms over southwestern Ontario will move into the Greater Golden Horseshoe and central Ontario this afternoon. Given the potential for slow-moving showers and thunderstorms and for some areas to receive multiple rounds of precipitation, local amounts exceeding 50 mm are possible.

Note that rainfall amounts will be highly variable across the region and not all areas will receive this much rain. There remains considerable uncertainty as to exactly which areas will receive the highest rainfall amounts.

Additional showers are expected through Sunday, especially to the east of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay and over northeastern Ontario.

Water may pool on roads and in low-lying areas.

Don't drive through flooded roadways.

Avoid low-lying areas. Watch for washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

<p>Lambton OPP say they arrested a man carrying a replica firearm on Main St. Grand Bend early last Saturday.
 
Police say at about 2:18am they received information about an individual concealing a hand gun.
 
A man was searched and a replica firearm and shoulder holster were seized.
 
28-year-old Stephen Shane Debona of Mount Hope, Ontario faces charges including carrying a prohibited device for a dangerous purpose.
 
He's to appear in Sarnia court August 10.
 
Police say unless authorized by the Criminal Code or Firearms Act, no one is permitted to possess or carry replica firearms in a dangerous, careless or concealed manner.
