Sewer Expansion Encourages Future Development

The Mayor of Lambton Shores says Grand Bend is now well positioned for future development. Bill Weber says the $16.6-million dollar sewage treatment plant expansion is on schedule to be completed in April of next year. Council has approved possible future extension of sanitary sewers to lakefront areas currently served by septic systems. There are two condo developments on the drawing board in Grand Bend, one near the Sobeys Shopping Plaza and the other off Gill Rd.

Doug Bonesteel resigned his council seat over the possible sewer expansion, saying it would be too expensive for taxpayers. Dan Sageman who lost by just 19 votes in the last election was selected by council to fill the vacant seat.
