A rezoning application for the open storage of recreational vehicles, trailers and boats was discussed in a public meeting Monday. Various concerns were raised by city councillors and public speakers.

Illegal RV parking is currently regulated by the city on a complaint basis, and they've been lenient on understandable circumstances. City council voted 6-1 in favour of extending RV parking/storage bylaw across Sarnia.

The city withdrew its expression of interest on former the St. Patrick's Catholic High School, allowing the school board to sell directly to Bluewater Health. The hospital has agreed to let two local track clubs continue using the track, provided Bluewater Health acquires the site.

Sarnia council approved a new Property Standards bylaw containing specific amendments on heritage properties, accessibility elements, and the addition of new sections including swimming pools, vital services, and graffiti. It comes into effect on December 1st of this year.

Autoform Contracting London Ltd will be carrying out nearly $219,000 in sidewalk accessibility upgrades by the end of this year. The project includes replacing inaccessible sidewalk corners with new concrete ramps, improving multiple bus stops, and the removal of out-of-date traffic islands.
