There's been a couple of new developments in ongoing efforts to improve transportation services in Sarnia-Lambton.
The lobby group RAIL (Rail Advocacy in Lambton), VIA Rail and the Southwestern Ontario Transportation Alliance are working together.
RAIL chair Jim Houston says one idea they're looking at is the integration of Sarnia Transit service with VIA trains arriving at the Sarnia Station.
He says a bus would take passengers to the first transfer point closest to their home.

Houston says CN is also testing diesel powered, self-propelled Budd rail cars for routes between Sarnia and London.
VIA Rail announced in June that it plans to increase passenger service to four trains a day in and out of Sarnia next year.
