The former DTE Energy power plant will come tumbling down on November 7.
Controlled Demolition Inc. spokesman Ray Zukowski says they'll use linear-shaped charges to cut through the building's steel supports beginning at ground level, followed by blasts moving up the 93-year-old building's support system.

The demolition of the 12-story building will occur at 8am Saturday, November 7, and the shipping channel will be closed for a brief period of time.
Officials say it will take up to two years to clean the site and prepare it for a mix of commercial and possible residential developments.
