Sarnia's mayor is sounding the alarm over cuts to the city fire department.
Mike Bradley says city council considered a report from the fire chief and city manager during a recent in-camera meeting and decided to eliminate four firefighter positions through attrition.
He says a 20-year Fire Master Plan, developed several years ago in co-operation with the firefighters association, set a service level of 17 firefighters per shift.

Mayor Bradley says the matter was considered in closed session October 5 and has just been reported publicly.
