Next summer residents in southwestern Ontario will have another area code to remember.
The Telecommunications Alliance says a new 548 code will join 519 and 226 in June 2016.
High demand for communications services and technologies has led to increased need for additional telephone numbers in the region, including Sarnia-Lambton.
Other communities being impacted by the change are Brantford, Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo, Owen Sound, Windsor, Woodstock and London.
Existing phone numbers with the 519 or 226 area codes will not be affected.
