River Rd. Expected To Be Busy For Plant Demo

The former DTE Energy power plant in Marysville Michigan is slated for demolition Saturday morning.

The 12-storey building is scheduled to come tumbling down at 8am.

The shipping channel on the St. Clair River will be closed for a short period of time.

The Canadian side will offer prime viewing.

City police Constable John Sottosanti says River Rd. in south Sarnia will be busy.

Controlled Demolition Inc. officials say several fire pumper trucks will be on hand to keep dust to a minimum.

Officials say it will take up to two years to clean the site and prepare it for a mix of commercial and possible residential developments.
