Newly elected Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu had a very busy first week in Ottawa.
The Conservative member met with Infrastructure and Communities Minister Amarjeet Sohi to discuss $125-million in infrastructure funding.
Gladu hopes the fund can be tapped for Sarnia's proposed oversized load corridor.
"The oversized load corridor has been on my mind as top priority so I was able to have a discussion with him (Sohi) about that project," says Gladu. "He's very interested and asked for follow-up information and we'll be having another meeting on that."
Gladu has also had discussions with the Immigration Minister and local stakeholders looking to bring Syrian refugees to this area. She was scheduled to meet again Monday with Science Minister Kirsty Duncan, to update a local project eligible for FedDev funding.
