Research Park Resurgence Continues

The resurgence of the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park continues with occupancy of 97 per cent and 85 per cent research occupancy.

The Modeland Rd. park was recently ranked the fifth best performing university business incubator in North America, up from seventh place last year.

The park's executive director, Tom Strifler, says UBI Global and Ontario Centres of Excellence jointly release the rankings based on the level of support provided to start-up businesses.

"We're certainly thrilled to improve our ratings over last year. Number five in North America is pretty astounding for the Western Research Park," he says. "It demonstrates the value we're bringing to researchers and new start-up businesses."

Strifler says the park's unique assets like laboratory space, pilot plant facilities and partnerships with the university and college help set it apart.
