Water Billing Changes In Plympton-Wyoming

Big changes are coming to water and sewer bills for Plympton-Wyoming residents.

Council is amalgamating the two water systems of the former Plympton Township and the village of Wyoming.

Public Works Director David Fielding says 70 per cent of each bill will be for the fixed costs of running the water treatment plant. 30 per cent will be based on the amount of water used.

"The low end water uses in Wyoming probably will see the largest impact of the bill increase, versus the high end water users may see a decrease in the water bill," says Fielding.

He says Wyoming bills will, on average, rise about 10 per cent while Plympton residents will see about a 13 per cent drop in their bills.

All residents will be charged once every two months and any special billing arrangements including season meters will be eliminated.
