The Sarnia Heritage Committee is looking for ideas on what to do with the Cull Drain Bridge structure.
Member Mel Smith says lobbying efforts by the "Friends of the Cull Drain Bridge" helped save the structure last year when it was replaced by the newly dedicated Ron Yorke Bridge.
She says they want to open a public discussion to help decide the future of the structure, which has been sitting in Mike Weir Park since its removal in November of last year.
"The committee would like to discuss this with the public that if anyone would like to take on the project, unfortunately, there isn't the city budget at this time for heritage concerns," says Smith. "It could cost upwards of half-a-million dollars."
Smith says its not the role of the committee to undertake and fund such projects.
Sarnia Council voted unanimously in September 2014 to salvage the trusses of the historic span during its removal.
