Petrolia Mayor Looks Toward New Year

The Town of Petrolia's mayor is looking forward to what 2016 has in store.

Mayor John McCharles says they'll be focusing on development.

"We've got the second phase of Petrolia Line that will get started again in the spring, that's a major project for the town. We also have the wastewater treatment plant that's under construction. It's well over $20-million, and so, major project for the Town of Petrolia," he says.

Construction on Petrolia Line is expected to be finished sometime in early summer, and the wastewater treatment plant by spring of 2018.

The mayor says keeping budget rates down will be one challenge they face in the new year.
