College Recognized For Mobile Learning Leadership

Lambton College has received special designation from Apple for its continued work with mobile learning. Vice President of Academics Donna Church says the initiative began in 2012 as part of the college's strategic plan. She says students are being introduced to similar styles of learning at the high school level, and most are already comfortable using multiple devices. There is currently over 50 mobile learning programs at the college and Church says all full-time programs will be mobile for September. She says the mobile learning is not exclusive to Apple products.

The college's Wi-Fi was upgraded to help meet demands and is now equipped to handle three devices for every student. Lambton is the first Ontario college to receive the designation, which is reserved for programs that meet criteria for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence while demonstrating Apple's vision of exemplary learning.
