St. Clair Child and Youth Services is among 33 service areas in Ontario receiving government funding to improve services.
Director of System Operations Craig MacKenzie says a recent public input study showed people want closer services to where they live and more information on mental health.
He says they'll be hiring two additional staff members and providing rotating walk-in clinics to rural areas.
"We're well positioned to expand our existing service model to provide rotating walk-in clinics throughout rural areas of Lambton county as well to first nation communities," says MacKenzie.
Ontario's investment of $6-million into local mental health services will help an estimated additional 4,000 children and youth each year.
