The Ontario Nurses Association is concerned more job cuts at Bluewater Health will impact the level of patient care.
First Vice President Vicki McKenna says Wednesday's announcement of a net reduction of 12 positions is the third wave of job cuts in just 12 months.
She says, to date, 77 net positions and thousands of hours of care have been lost.
"As they reduce registered nurses it limits the ability to continue to care for the number of people they're seeing," says McKenna.
McKenna says the provincial funding formula is not reflecting the needs of communities and should be revamped.
The ONA is taking every opportunity to voice its concerns to government officials at the health ministry and in the premier's office.
The public is asked to contact MPPs and government representatives and demand that hospitals being properly funded.
