Shortly after 7am Sunday, Sarnia police responded to a call about a break and enter in progress in the 200 block of Cromwell St.
Neighbours saw a man allegedly trying to jimmy open a door at the residence, then trying to kick door open.
The man was then spotted climbing onto the roof attempting to gain access by removing a window screen.
When officers arrived they arrested the man at entrance of the residence.
The 34-year-old Sarnia resident was charged with breach of probation and attempted break and enter.
